What is the Back-end File and How Do I Change From One to Another?
TQS-9000 is Setup to in a Split Database Design. This Allows the Front-end File Which Contains the Forms, Queries, Reports, Macros, and Modules to be Installed on Individual Computers. Then the Tables that Contain the Data is Installed on File Server that All Individual Machines then Connect to and Share the Data, so That All Updates are Real Time. When Connected to the Server the Main Launch Screen will Reflect this by the "Live Environment" Message Toward the Top of the Page. When Connected to Your Local Hard Drive this Message Will Reflect "Test Environment". This Back-end file is Generally Used for Testing or Training. To Change the Location of the File that You are Connected to Select the "Link" Button from the Main Launch Screen. Then Select the Browse for Data File Button. Search for the Location of the Data File You Wish to Connect to. (If You Do Not Know the Location of the Data File Please Contact Your System Administrator). To Speed This Process Up on an NT Server System Please See the TQS-9000 Windows Help File.
What are the Administrative Functions in the APQP Module, and why can't I access them?
The administrative options allow the user to move projects from the work in progress status to the approved status or from approved to work in progress to complete updates, archive projects, copy entire projects, or migrate projects out to the TQS-9000 Migration Tool. In order to access this function you must have administrative sign-on authorization. This security is defined by your System Administrator and is set to protect your data and to assure non authorized documents are moved to approved status. TQS-900 and our associated products are designed to provide a complete Total Quality Management System for our customers, the Administrative Tools can save users valuable time in managing projects while providing complete security against unauthorized changes.
What is the TQS-9000 Migration Tool and How Does It Work?
The TQS-9000 Migration Tool is an add-on program for TQS-9000 total quality management software program that will allow the user to copy an entire APQP project to a small database that may transported to an off-site location for review or edit. The project may also be updated at the off-site location and migrated back into the main data file. When a project is Migrated out the user is given an option to lock the data in main data file so changes cannot be made while the data is out, to protect from changes being made that would be overwritten when the file is Migrated back into the main data file. While the data is locked out the data is not removed from the main data file, it is only masked so that is not visible. If it becomes necessary to view this material while the data is still out the data lock may be removed to allow the data to become visible once more.
The TQS-9000 Migration Tool is now also fully compatible with our Total Advanced Quality 9000 TQM Software package.

The second option is the advanced filter option which allows you to create and edit your own queries for reports. This option will populate your local copy of the database with customized queries and reports, with additional options of editing existing tables and queries.
