Total Quality System 9000 Family of Products Embedding and Linking Images
All of the TQS-9000 Family of Products programs provide the ability to embed or link images into several records in your program. It is important that users understand the difference between embedding and linking documents and the advantages of linking your images rather than embedding them into your records. When you embed an image into a record the image file is copied directly into your database and is only available to the specific record that you embedded the image into. This means the image cannot be shared with other records and may drastically increase the size of your database. By linking the images into a record this same image may be shared in multiple records and if the image is changed it will automatically be updated in every record that it associated to. Below is a step by step instruction on how to link your images into a record and suggested methods for accomplishing this.
