Total Quality System 9000 Family of Products Embedding and Linking Documents or Images
All of the TQS-9000 Family of Products programs provide the ability to embed or link files and images into several records in your program. It is important that users understand the difference between embedding and linking documents and the advantages of linking your documents or images rather than embedding them into your records. When you embed a document or image into a record the document is copied directly into your database and is only available to the specific record that you embedded the file into. This means the document cannot be shared with other records and may drastically increase the size of your database. By linking the documents into a record this same document or image may be shared in multiple records and if the document or image is changed it will automatically be updated in every record that it associated to. Below is a step by step instruction on how to link your documents or images into a record and suggested methods for accomplishing this.
